Enlisted

Enlisted Design, a product and branding firm, wanted to transform their full-floor studio in an old Oakland mercantile building into something modern and remarkable. Medium Plenty collaborated with founder Beau Oyler to balance the clean, bright modernism of their product design with the raw feel of their workshop and maker space.

The concrete bones of the vintage building supplied layered rhythm and texture, juxtaposed with white planes sliding through the light-filled volume. That subtle industrial backdrop lets a colorful string art installation by local artist Annie Tull take top billing—a metaphor, in the studio’s framing, for workspaces connected in ongoing collaboration. Concrete and string become the project’s featured medium pairing.
