About

Natural | Warmth with a cool counterpoint

Natural is the honey-toned finish in Sumparwood, a proprietary wood-like material for outdoor furniture development. It gives designers a warm starting point for frames, rails and other components in their own collections.

Colour and light

The material detail brings broad honey-toned bands together with narrow dark lines. Fine grain, the width of each band and the spaces between them all affect how the surface reads. Compare the physical finish in your studio light and in the intended setting, beside the upholstery and hardware you plan to use.

A colour study by Michael Lao

The complete mixed-media work places warm profiles beside blue, violet, rough textures and botanical details. This contrast suggests a palette to explore: blue textiles, pale stone and woven textures around a warmer structure. The artwork offers a colour conversation; companion materials still need to suit the intended application. Original works by Michael Lao, 2026.

From surface to furniture

The application detail shows how a repeated surface can sit beside a quieter frame. Bring the relationship that interests your team into a new drawing: the width of a band, the rhythm of an opening or the meeting of a rail and upright.

The Natural application reference brings the finish into a complete seating arrangement: a sofa, two broad-band lounge chairs and a low table. Pale upholstery and stone tones make the warm structure easier to read at furniture scale. This is an atmospheric styling reference, not documentation of a completed client project.

Inside the workshop

The gallery also includes shared Boscher Workshop, joinery and hand-finishing references. These introduce the wider development practice rather than specifying the Natural finish. Profiles, cutting, routing, controlled heat-forming and joints are reviewed against the proposed geometry, construction and exposure. The four-finish image is a promotional palette comparison; confirm actual colour with physical samples.
