About the Project

Iron Fist Restaurant is a restaurant by Studio Kota Architecture in Jakarta, Indonesia. The project is a two-story Chinese fusion restaurant and bar in Blok M, South Jakarta, with an area of 300 m² and completion in 2022.

The restaurant is positioned within Blok M, a historical neighborhood associated with Japanese-owned businesses and often referred to as Little Tokyo. The surrounding district is described as undergoing rapid revitalization aimed at restoring its role as a destination for young people and tourists, a status it held in the 80’s. The area’s older urban fabric included modernist buildings from the ’60s and ’70s.

Within that context, Iron Fist Restaurant addresses a commercial programme that combines dining and bar use across two floors. The project was designed by Studio Kota Architecture with Erick Kristanto as lead architect and Nicole Fernanda and Raushan Fikri on the design team. Lawless X Pò Noodle Bar is named as the owner and also credited for graphic and artworks, while Novema (Qemad) is credited for construction and furniture. Photography is by William Sutanto.
