RELM is a Los Angeles-based landscape architecture and urban design studio focused on creating meaningful public realms that strengthen communities, enhance everyday urban life, and connect people with the environments around them. The practice approaches landscape as an integral part of city-making, working across public spaces, mixed-use developments, residential environments, campuses, and large-scale urban projects. RELM’s work combines landscape architecture, urban design, ecology, programming, mobility, and placemaking to create spaces that respond to both their immediate context and the wider city. The studio emphasizes inquisitive, deliberate, and impactful design, with particular attention to beauty, durability, environmental performance, and the ways public spaces are actually experienced and used. Its portfolio includes projects throughout Los Angeles and beyond, ranging from transit-oriented developments and mixed-use districts to civic landscapes and urban residential environments. Notable work includes Ivy Station in Culver City, 8850 Sunset Boulevard in West Hollywood, Habitat / 3401 South La Cienega, and Santa Monica Vermont TOD. Across these projects, RELM uses landscape to organize complex programs, create spaces for gathering, introduce urban ecology, and strengthen connections between buildings, streets, transit, and communities.
